The Coop has an opening for a Team Lead at the Elkton Terminal Grain Plant. We are looking for a qualified individual with strong leadership, customer service and organizational skills.   This person will work closely with the Plant Manager to manage plant activities and product.  This person will assist with the grain plant, specialty wheat plant and uptown Elkton, as well as helping with the office/scale and plant safety.  Prior supervisory experience and strong computer skills required.  A CDL with proper endorsements helpful.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provides prompt, efficient, and professional service to customers (internal and/or external). Clearly and courteously communicates with customers promoting a positive company image at all times.
  • Assists in assigning work to team; assists in supervising work and monitoring progress. Reports employee and work issues / progress to Manager.
  • Provides training and mentoring to entry level operators as needed.
  • Receives, ships, and grades grains; may also receive, store, process and ship other beans product.
  • May be responsible for maintaining old corn plant; supplies corn for feed mill and screenings.
  • Hauls dust.
  • Drives truck as needed.
  • Assists in inventory control responsibilities; maintains a high quality product.
  • Maintains and cleans all plant equipment. Maintains cleanliness of work area and facility. Ensures all safety standards are met and works within safety guidelines.
  • Assists in the storability of product by maintaining temperatures in tolerance, silo aeration in check, and processing grades in tolerances.
  • May act as back up to Elkton Elevator, Elkton Terminal or Pigeon grain plant managers.
  • Records all appropriate documentation and test results necessary to maintain all current certification standards and comply with all regulatory requirements.
  • Participates in all procedure and safety training as assigned. Follows all job and safety procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements and established company safety policies and standards.
  • Attends and participates in meetings as appropriated.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

High School or GED with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the grain industry or equivalent combination of education and experience; experience with grading and processing tolerances of commodities; certifications as required by law; valid driver’s license required and CDL with the proper endorsements.
